Buckeye Cellulose Corporation was established. July 3, 1956 Buckeye Employees Federal Credit Union was established by the employees of Buckeye Cellulose Corporation. |

W. D. Wilson, an accounting manager for Buckeye Cellulose operated the credit union from the Foley Lumber Industries office. Unsecured loans could be up to $200 and an additional $100 for each co-signer up to a maximum of $400. The interest rate was a whopping 1%. |

Mabel Adams, a part time employee, was appointed as office manager and the credit union began to operate from the old train depot which received and shipped goods for Buckeye Cellulose on the Live Oak, Perry and Gulf Railroad, better known as the "Loping Gopher". |

Hoyt Ragans was hired as the first full time employee. At this time the credit union had $188,000 in assets and 500 members. |
| 1960 |
The credit union moved operations to the old commissary building. This building also provided for dry goods, a barber shop and a post office. You could shoot a game of pool while sipping a soda drawn fresh from an old fashioned soda fountain. |
